Jessica McRaney
Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2004 + Miss Mississippi USA 2009
*NOTE: This interview took place prior to Jessica's Miss Missisippi USA reign.
Why did you decide to participate in the Miss Mississippi Teen USA pageant?
I was encouraged to compete by a friend of mine who had competed in the pageant twice.
She obviously had a great experience and when I showed interest she supported me.
I was truly lucky, I competed my last year of eligibility for the Teen group!
What was going through your head when you were announced as the winner of Miss Mississippi Teen USA?
Utter shock and disbelief! I really never dreamt that it would actually happen for me.
When I arrived there that day I looked around and saw all my competition and told myself that
All I could do was do my best, so I was in a really good mind set all day.
What was your most memorable moment at Miss Teen USA 2004?
I had the best roommate ever! My roommate was the beautiful Magen Ellis, Miss Texas Teen USA.
My favorite part of ever day was when we just chilled out in our room and talked about the day.
It was a good end to stressful and tiresome days!
Who would be your role model and why?
I have many role models! I try to look for the best in everyone and try to model what I like about them within myself. So, I couldn’t really pick just one. Everyone can be a role model.
What have you been up to since you passed on your crown?
Just college basically! I still keep up with some of my pageant friends and I always watch the pageants on TV, I think pageants will always be a part of my life because they are something I have invested so much of my time and strength into.
